Dear Friends,

As this new year at the Capitol starts, I want you to help me set my priorities for the 39^th Senate District. Please take my survey about some of the important issues I expect us to face in Springfield.

Earlier this week, I was sworn in for another term in the Illinois Senate. I expect this year to present new and exciting challenges. For the first time since you elected me to represent you at the Capitol, we have a shared government, with both Democrats and Republicans empowered. I do not foresee more of the bold, progressive policy victories we achieved over the last six years. However, we have the opportunity to deal in a more bipartisan fashion with the nuts and bolts of government - particularly the budget.

I also encourage you to send me an email or contact my district office if you have any questions, concerns or ideas you would like to share. While I plan to continue working on my fair tax plan and other priorities, my primary goal is to make state government better serve all of our communities. Your ideas can lead to new laws and a better quality of life for everyone.
